Tioman Island... Green waters

Me, Joel, Serene and Marcus left Singapore for Tioman Island in a 44 seaters coach at 6.30am in the morning!! *yawnnnn* Departing early is ok, but by the time we reached the Tamjung Gumuk Ferry Terminal, it was almost 11.30am! That's 5 'long' hours including 1 toilet stop! I don't know but it's a journey too far for somewhere so near...

Anyway, we board the ferry at approx. 12noon. Ferry was full, so we were sent in front to occupy the Crew seats.. Ferry was ok but with the thumping of the ferry against the waves, there were some MERLIONS on board! Lucky for me, i was sleeping so i didn't hear any unpleasant puking... *whewww*

The 4 of us in the ferry...

The journey to Berjaya's pier, Tekek, was crazy!! By the time, we reached, it was about 3pm..

"What?! 3 hours ferry to Tioman? How can that be?!"

Because the ferry had to drop others off!! Tekek Pier (Berjaya's drop off pier) was the last one on the list... *haiz*

3.30pm. Arriving in Berjaya, we walked towards the Front Desk for check-in. Hungry and tired, we collected the keys, book our full day tour and went to their Coffee House for our lunch.. After lunch, we went back to our rooms, change and we were off to the beach for some activities.

"I want to feed fish... gagaga.. Daddy, quick!"

That was Serene, all excited about feeding the fishes. Berjaya's a beachfront resort so you can see alot of sunbeds along the beach.

Marcus: (while putting on his sunscreen) "Mommy, put your sunscreen first.."

Serene: "No need, i want to go feed fish! gagaga.."

She took off her shirt, took a bread and walked off... Marcus follow shortly. Me took my own sweet time to put the sunscreen on and joined them shortly for some fun. Joel? He was slacking before joining me for a soaking session...

Marcus: "Mommy, push my head down. I keep floating up..."

And so Serene and me pushed his head down for a picture..

Nice shot. Too bad the waters ain't that clear..

When we first made our way in to Berjaya when we first arrived, me and Joel noticed some jetskis along the beach. We decided to check out their rates as Joel has been dying for some jetski action..

Joel: "How much?"

Jetski Staff: "RM100.."

Joel: "Huh? RM$100?! How long?"

Jetski Staff: "30mins"

Joel turned around and gave me a grin.. The kind that he's delighted and at the same time confused.

Joel: "Dear, how? I don't want to ride so long.."

Me: "Asked for 15mins at RM$50 la.."

Joel: (Smiling) "Ok!"

A deal was cut and we started wearing the lifejackets.. Then we noticed Marcus and Serene walking towards our directions.

Joel: (Shouting) "Marcus, RM$50 for 15mins ride.. Come!"

And so there were 2..

Marcus and Joel getting ready for some speeeeeeeed!

Me and Joel went out first because Marcus's jetski need to warm up.. Joel rode before but that was a long time ago.. We were cruising and enjoying ourselves when suddenly he released the gear and we fell in!! As we struggle to get on board again, Serene and Marcus was coming out for some action.. After a while, me and Joel managed to get up but we fell into the waters again! And out of no where, Serene and Marcus also fell into the waters! Hahahaha...

After 2 falls and a knock on my shins, i wanted to go back.. After 3 falls and a knock on her ankle, Serene also decided to go back. Without a pillion, the control of the jetski is so much easier to handle. While soaking and waiting for Joel and Marcus, me and Serene could see Joel zipping here and there in the fastest speed he can go.. But where's Marcus?! He's stuck out there with his 'lousy' jetski and had to be tow back! Hahaha... Joel's 15mins up and Marcus was given Joel's jetski in exchange for the lousy one.. Marcus was slow initiately but when he's used to the momentum, he too goes all the way but, with some reserves...

The next day, we hopped onto our small speedboat for our full day island tour... We were brought around by this father and son team.. The boy was about 8-9years old helping out his dad and his dad called him "Baby".. So 'Baby' was his nick! By the time, we finished the Marine Park, Renggis Island, Juara, Coral Island, etc, it was 5pm.

Our small speedboat.. Can you see? Nice shot huh?

Waterfall pier... It took us 10-15mins to walk to the waterfall... Worst? All the way uphill!!!

We took this at the Marine Park's platform.. Waters here is deep and a very 'clean' Marine Park..

Nice waters but not very clear though...

Berjaya Tioman is a very commercialise holiday resort.. Compare with Laguna Redang, Berjaya is slightly more expensive in terms of food, drinks and gifts. A can of drink cost RM$3 in Berjaya whereas Redang, a can will only cost us RM$2. Me and Joel spent almost RM$300 on our meals alone at Berjaya, excluding breakfast, titbits and drinks!

Overall, Tioman... A highly recommended place for fishing. Scuba diving and snorkelling are recommended but be careful of sea urchins! Try to rough-it-out at their local longhouse instead as Berjaya is too commercialise for an adventure!

We enjoyed ourselves there but we don't see ourselves going there again in the near future. :)
