Volunteers needed at Sri Lanka!!

If you've read today's edition of Straits Times, you would have come across a report about YMCA recruiting volunteers for Sri Lanka. Well, for your information, i gave them a call.

YMCA need volunteers in Sri Lanka. Not to clean up the bodies for goodness sake! That will be up to the local authorities and not us.. All they want is YOU be a friend to the locals.. To offer them your support! Please call YMCA at 6430 2333 for more details.

Ask you a question... You studied or worked so hard all your life for a better life style.. But have you ever stop your pace and think for others? I mean, you studied so hard and worked so hard for what?? To improve your standard of living, right?? But what if something big or disasterous happen, do you stop to show concern or do you continue your pace to find more ways to upgrade your life style? Do you still have the heart to live the way you've planned when people around you are suffering (from natural disaster, sickness, etc)?? Have you done something so right that you know you will leave with peace? Stop your pace now and think about what i've said.. Have you ever????

If you have not made any donations to the tsunami victims, what are you waiting for? Waiting for the sky to drop, the pigs to fly and the sun to set on the East yar? Making a monetary donations is necessary and an easy task, but going there and face their ruined home, ruined house/business and morale will not be easy.. Imagine the pain they are going through..

Picture this.. Singapore is one of the affected areas! Bedok, Tampines, Eunos, Jurong, Clementi, Woodlands, almost all of Singapore are affected by the tsunamis. You see wreckage everywhere you go.. Cars stacked on each other, shophouses all emptied with their goods floating around, shopping malls are badly damaged with shattered windows and those branded goods lying around on the ground, hotels flooded with water and... Dead bodies! Bloated and bloody floating around you. You have to push them away in order to make your way through.. When you stepped closer, you realised your house where you spent all your savings on is shattered... Your high-end computer and electronics are in the waters, your pet is nowhere to be found, your car is not in your porch, your furnitures are wrecked to pieces and your parents are seeking shelter on top of your own roof! What will you do? Who will want to help you when the whole of Singapore is in hot soup itself? Who? Me? No.. Me also facing the same wreckage as you... What will you do??? Tell me.. Will you wish that someone is there to give you support and help you in what ever ways they can??

Yar yar, the above scenario is a bit exaggerating, beside not everyone in Singapore live on landed property! But what if, it really happened?? What do you have to say then..?

Be kind, do your part, support the victims in what ever means that is the most suitable/comfortable for you.. Help others when they are in need and you never know, maybe one fine day, someone will help you too! (",)

Please help...

Latest update...

For all of you who has a conscience, please make some contributions for the tidal waves victims.

Singapore is fortunate to avoid such "Act of God" due to its geographical position in the region. If we can contribute several million dollars of donations to all the charity programmes we have on our TV, i'm sure we can come out with this bit of money to help. The funds will be used to purchase medicine and first aid, food and other relief supplies.

Do your part!

Please send your contributions to:
  • Singapore Red Cross
  • Buddhist Fellowship
  • Buddhist Federation
  • NTUC Fairprice
  • High Commission of Sri Lanka in Singapore
  • SriLankan Airlines
  • DBS Singapore
  • Shoba and Srinivas Vadrevu

Please visit HERE for more details.

I will be making a donation of $50. It's not much but at least i don't sit there and do nothing.

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN... DON'T BE SELFISH!!

2004 Christmas presents theme revealed!

As mentioned earlier, i will show you guys what my 2004 theme is. Here it is..

Those wrapped in silver wrappings are Joel's, Joel's mom's, Serenes', Mavis's and Jane's present. The only floral wrapping is my mom's present. Ran out of wappers...

Kept telling Serene that i gotta keep the presents "fresh".. Now she knows why i need to do so... All the presents are wrapped according to their "physical" size. Nah.. Just kidding..

"Don't snatch my balloon away!" Jane had a shock when she saw how "big" my presents were.

"Can you see my name? It's Mavis!"

Got this foil-ballon-attached-with-presents "inspirations" from those hamper gift companies. It not only look good and is very appropriate for Christmas. Give it a try, suitable for all occasions!

Shocked!

I saw something very disturbing last night.. Something that i never thought that a parent would do no matter how upset they were...

Me and Joel were fishing at our favourite prawn-fishing site at Jurong Reptile Garden. While we were fishing, there was this kid (about 6-7 years old) running around disturbing everyone. One word, irritating!!

Eventually, one of the staff warned him not to disturbed us and that if she heard anyone complain about it, she would give it hard to him. So i asked the staff, "Whose kid is that?" "Some customer's kid..", she replied.

Not thinking much, we continued our prawning session. Out of nowhere, there was a burnt smell.. Me and Joel looked around and saw the kid and his siblings setting fire to some dry leaves they collected! The fire wasn't big but for a kid playing with fire, you know how WRONG it is! Joel went to the counter to order some drinks and at the same time, he informed the staff about it, fearing the small fire will be a hazard to the place.

Suddenly, i heard cries.. You will never guess what i saw.. The kid's father was kicking him badly!!! Oh my goodness...! Yes, kicking and not beating him.. From my angle, his father was kicking him badly! It's like when you are in a fight, you kicked the opponents hard and with all your might!! Yes, that hard on a mere 6-7 year old boy!

I looked at Joel and both of us were stunned! We weren't sure whether to interfer or not.. Firstly, it's their family business and we have no right to interfer. Secondly, those staff who knew the family well weren't doing anything to stop the kicking. Whatever reasons we have (for not stopping the kicking), both of us were just too stunned to do anything.. If you were there, you will know what i mean..

How can a parent kicked his own flesh and blood as if he's born to endure such treatment?

Yes, the kid might be naughty or rebellious or something but it doesn't give you the right to kick him like that because you gave life to him..

BE A RESPONSIBLE PARENT PLEASE! NO CHILD ABUSE!

Mother Nature

Christmas was good.. We made reservation for table of 10 at Sakura Restaurant Far East Plaza. Me, Joel, Jane, Jiron, Serene, Marcus, Mavis, Jeremy, Espen and AJ were there for a feast! There were more than 8 dishes on the table and we "played horse"!

Play Horse??!! Yes.. Play Horse. Fun but risky.. Everyone on the table will get his/her chance to decide how much the meal will cost per person, with all the taxes and service charges incurred. Everyone will have a go, its either you pay whatever amount was called or you go lower.. In the end, it's either you make some $$$ or you lose some.. And AJ lost some but not alot though.

Anyway, me and Joel slacked the whole weekend away.. We didn't do much on Sun.. We stayed home tuning in CNN and BBC about the Richter Scale 8.9 earthquake that shook Asia.. What can be more disasterous with the works of Mother Nature?!! And all the areas that are affected by the tidal waves are all poor countries.. Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Me and Joel are lucky.. We were supposed to go for a trip to Koh Samui or Krabi in December with the group.. But i urged them to postpone till January when there is no surcharge from the airline and hotel.. Thankfully, the trip was postpone or so called cancel due everyone's addictive to World of Warcraft.. Wheww...!!

Joy to the World!

Merry Christmas to you, Merry Christmas to you, Merry Christmas to everyone.... Merry Christmas to you!! (",)

We come together on 25 Dec to celebrate the birth of Jesus and NOT because of Santa Claus! Must support the good and not the bad/evil (Santa Claus)!

I don't really know alot but this is what i know.. My own opinions! :)

Do you know why is there a Christmas Day?? What is Christmas Day anyway?? Christmas day was the day when Jesus, the Son of God, was born by Mother Virgin Mary and Father Joseph. And the rest?? Is history..! You can either read your bible or do some research if you want to know more about the life of Jesus on Earth.

As for Santa Claus, what i heard is he is the creation of Satan!!! But what a creation, it had me fool since young! Well, i gotta admit that Satan did a very good job marketing Santa Claus.. And if you realise, the name SANTA, if you reshuffle the alphabets, it will become S A T A N!!!!! :O Oh-me-goodnesss! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha...

Anyway, with or without Santa Claus, everyone (that will be you and me and you there and you behind and you who keep looking away!) have been used to this custom, exchanging presents and get together to celebrate Christmas. Although all these have nothing to do with Jesus's birth, but it's the season to be jolly because it's Jesus's birthday??!!! :p

Anyway, have a Very Merry Christmas! Many many presents to come! :)

Down with flu!

What a Sunday... Was sneezing the whole of Sunday but it got worse after the fishing! And today.... I'm down with flu. Feeling lethargic... Need a bed and flu medicine!NOW! :p

Yesterday, we were not on our best behaviour.. We went "Todman" fishing @ a private property, where there is a reservoir.. In the West. Fishing at the Reservoir was illegal.. There were 6 of us, 5 guys and me, a gal.. There were 5 very excited fishermen using 'Live' Koi as bait, poor fish..

It was barely 8pm when we arrived. We walked for about 5 mins before we reached the so called "sure catch" spot. Joel, Gavin and their cousin, Samuel started to set up their rods. Three of them were anxious to cast their rod in. Me? Sitting down in the dark keeping a lookout for them!

It was a cold and exciting night. The strong wind blowing at the coconut trees, the swaying and the rattling of the coconut leaves above us and the reservoir waters reflecting the moonlight that was part of our 'light' there!

Suddenly, i saw lights from a distance! "Is that Rangers in the buggy?"

Immediately, everyone dropped their rods and jumped on their feet to hide. We grabbed our belongings and went scrambling behind the tall plants that were our refuge! The buggy drove up.. Very very near us, so near that any movement from either one of us, they could have spotted us.. Shortly after, they left the scene. When we were sure about their departure, we packed up our stuff immediately and left the premises. It was fun although there wasn't any haul...

We were puzzled why the rangers didn't come forward and expose us. They were very near us.. Very! The only reason we can think of is, there were too many of us. There was only 1 buggy and 2 rangers. There were 6 of us. They might be worry that we will pounce on them instead and for their own safety, they might as well leave the place and call for backup. Backup like police or fellow colleagues..

But luckily, it was a 'safe' night!

And because of a 'safe' night, i was 'blown' down with flu.. *haiz*

Coundtdown: 17 days to my birthday....

F I S H I N G at CBC

What a weekend we had! We dropped our party wear and went casual for a "FISHING" 2 nights stay at Changi Beach Club, with compliments from ESPEN's MOM!

3 Cheers for his mom! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray!

The full-poolview-and-partial-seaview room we were allocated were furnished with mini bar, full set of towels and complimentary coffee/tea making facilities. It's a chalet but it has resort facilities in the room. Not bad.. Changi Beach Club owns basic chalet facilities but their biggest advantage is that they are by the beach with pathways to the pier.

Anyway, we (mostly the guys) fished all weekend! They had so much fun! They caught fishes that are edible (unfortunately it's a waste due no pits 2 grill), fishes that look poisonous, fishes that look funny.. Their biggest haul were crabs! Flower crabs, king crabs and crabs that look poisonous. Joel and Marcus ate the flower crabs. They were delighted at how sweet the crabs tasted (it were cooked in boiling water only).. Just SWEET!

We girls didn't do much.. All we did? Gossiping! Me, Jane and Serene didn't do much fishing at all.. We didn't use much of the club's facilities as well. We couldn't play mahjong due the lack of 1 more player, we couldn't go to the jackpot room due we are not the members there, we didn't swim due we didn't bring any swim wear along.. So for the whole stay, we just walked around the resort or stayed in the room... GOSSIPING! :p

Overall? We enjoyed each other's company.. We are also looking forward to more of such activity in the near future! :)

Countdown to my 27th birthday in 2005: 24 more dreadful days!

Snowy and Furbie's Adventure!

Furbie and Snowy in the 350Z boot!

Taking a ride, enjoying the sceneries in the 350Z boot!
Snowy: I'm still the Lion King.. Not Furbie!
(Snowy's favourite position, the Lion King pose)

Furbie: (To Snowy) Look! Left!
Snowy: (To Furbie) Right! Look!

Furbie: Snowy!! What a fart... I'm fainting!

Happy Birthday MOM!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to Helen-Mom...... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!! (",)

It's my mom's birthday on 8th, she turned 50!! Oh my goodness! :O

We had steamboat last night. Oh boy, was it good! My mom's home cooked soup base and the Sinsin-chilli-with-chilli-padi-and-soya-sauce are the hot favourites on the table! Nick, Seng and his wife, my irritating loud brother and my mom's favourite Evon was there.

We reached home late because Evon bought a cake for her and i had to help her carry.. But it's all worth it! I recommended her the (in)famous Rive Gauche's most sellable cake, Guanaja. Very Delicious chocolate cake, best in Singapore! Try it and you will know what i is DELICIOUS! :)
(Location? B1 of Takashimaya, near the bread shop, near the japanese noodle counter!)

Me and my brother have set aside a sum for her Birthday present. We decided to buy her a pair of sunglasses since she bought a new car. So we thought that it will be a good gift for her. But then... She wanted something else, for her car.. Like the turbo meter for her little Turbo car she bought during Singapore Motorshow. Don't know what she wants! So fickle minded.. *shaking my head*

Anyway, my mom? All these years, she's been a very open minded and understanding lady.. Although she can be very naggy at times!! But still, she's still my mom, a lady who went through more than 24hrs of labour pain for me and showered me and my brother with all her LOVEEEE.. Do i need to say more? She's the only human in the world who can stand my nonsense and trantrum..

3 Cheers for my mom, Helen! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Horray! Hip Hip Hooray!

Me and Suz in B U S I N E S S ????

My girlfriend, Suzanah and i will be meeting up tomorrow at Arab Street. We are going "beads" shopping!

We were talking on the phone recently and i was telling Suz about how Joel's sister set up an online shopping gallery. After much gossiping and chit chatting, we thought maybe we can create a few pieces of tops and try out the market here.

It's not just some normal tops.. Its those ethnic Indian bajus.. Those translucent top decorated with beads? Not very Indian but very garang one?? The Island Shop @ CK Tangs specialise in those kind of tops... Which is not cheap and not all of them are nice one... Does it ring a bell???

Anyway.. We are just giving it a try and if we think that it looks good, we may produce in limited quantity and sell.. And if i have the time, i might use beads to make a bag.. Don't know lei..

Easier said than done. Gotta see how it goes.. (",)

Christmas is coming! :)

CHRISTMAS is coming.. *Haizzz* Lucky for me, i have finished my Christmas shopping for my girlfriends yesterday.. :) Just have to buy some wrapping papers, collect the stuffs i ordered and my presents will be ready to go!

I always have themes for my presents. This year the theme is different.. Well.. Watch out for a glimpse of it! Hope it will be an inspiration to you! :) Anyway i was saying..

In 2002, i bought each of the ladies a present and a "side dish". A furry handphone holder, each gal had different colors. All the presents are packaged in a paper bag with ribbons tied around the handle.

In 2003, i made them a cross-stitch 'Precious Moments' personalise name cushion each and again, a "side dish". A 3D calendar of 2004 in Disney characters.

I like creating themes for the presents i'm giving away.. I don't know why but it makes me feel good. :) *Crazy me*

Anyway, i've been told that Santa Claus is a creation of the Satan..!!! :O Yes yes, i'm spoiling your Santa Claus image.. But it's a fact.. But i gotta admit, Satan is doing a good job about Santa Claus but fortunately Jesus's birth will not be forgotten! :)

Anyway, i don't believe in Santa Claus since young, so it doesn't affect me much.. I'm only into the presents! Ha ha ha ha.. :)

Year 2004 will come to an end and we will step into 2005 very soon! Nooooooooo....... I'm turning 27 very very soon! Arghhhhhhhh......! :(

Every year end, i will look forward to the festive seasons and at the same time i dread stepping into a new year. Why? Because my birthday is on the 6th Jan...! :( And i'm turning 27 in a month's time! :O
